The Greenmill kennels produced the first victory with Danny Boy in the 8.15 heat when the three-year-old powered home to win by a two lengths winning margin.
He finished ahead of Blue Seal, owned and trained by Stephen Hornby of Portpatrick.
The Carmichael / Robinson partnership’s next victory was with Conny in the 8.45 heat. She crossed the line three lengths in front of Jim Henderson’s Dalkeith two-year-old Ruth.
Conny’s Lanarkshire connections, Rick Nelson and John Donnelly, also had a successful night at the Askern greyhound track at Doncaster where their entries Under the Stars and Under the Sun were both among the honours.
In fact, Under the Sun has qualified for next Monday’s 425 metres Askern Oaks final.
In the other Christmas Handicap heat at Halcrow Stadium, Borders owner trainer Rab Hyslop took top spot at 2/1 with his greyhound Zsa Zsa, which finished three-quarters of a length in front of the other qualifier, Dexter Clark’s Kirkbride bitch Rosemary.
There is no racing at Gretna on Christmas Day with the next meeting scheduled for next Tuesday night, January 29, at 7.30 pm when the Christmas Handicap final will be main feature race.
The line-up will be: Ruth 6 metres, Zsa Zsa 4, Blue Seal 3, Rosemary 3, Danny Boy 1, Conny 1.
