GREYHOUNDS: Flighty's one to watch

RISING star Flighty proved a dog to watch with a fine sprint victory at Gretna greyhound racing on Friday night.

The 17-month-old Irish-bred novice, entered by Peter Waugh of Gretna, powered ahead in the 8pm race to win at 2/1 by a comfortable 2.5 lengths.

Strongest challenger was Rosemary, a three-year-old bitch, owned and trained by Dexter Clark of Kirkbride.

Meanwhile, a local kennels produced a sprint winner with the same greyhound for the second week in succession.

Running a flyer was Jetski, a two-year-old bitch owned and trained by Tina Robinson and Basher Carmichael at Greenmill, Longtown.

She won by 2.75 lengths from Real Fun, a two-year-old based at Bonnybridge with the same kennel which produced the 7.45 race winner, Real Fire.
