GREYHOUNDS: Lochar Jet roars to success

DUMFRIES greyhound Lochar Jet roared out of the traps on Friday night to secure his first victory on only his second outing to Halcrow Stadium, Gretna.

The 18-month-old dog, owned and trained  by Ian Little, made the most of his good start to win by 1.75 lengths.

He made the most of the slow going on the border track to finish ahead of Magic Rory, a three-year-old dog from the Little kennels at Carlisle.

Lochar Jet came second when he made his debut appearance at Gretna over the same distance last week.

Ian Little says he has high hopes for the novice, whose mother, known as Pablo on the Gretna circuit, has produced a number of very able racers.

The Dumfries trainer also produced a second winner on Friday night.

His entry, a two-year-old dog called Malonga, led from the traps over the sprint distance to finish half a length in front of Pop, a three-year-old dog from Tom Clark of Workington.
