BORDER hotshot Danny Boy was on form in the final 470 metres race on good going at Halcrow Greyhound Stadium, Gretna at the weekend.

The two-year-old dog, owned and trained by Tina Robinson at Greenmill, Longtown, powered ahead to win by almost three lengths.

He finished ahead of another 5/2 shot, Sam’s Girl, trained at the Hume kennels at Hawick.

Gretna regular Dexter Clark produced a winning double with his entries over the sprint and middle distances.

His three-year-old dog Magnet took the honours on the 280 metres trip finishing 2.5 lengths in front of Billy Blister, a two-year-old dog from Davy Dunbar of Auchinleck.

Clark produced an equally impressive victory over 470 metres with 2/1 shot Pip winning by 4.5 lengths from Smack, a 5/4 fancy from retired Scots engineering firm boss Willie Hyslop.
