It was a comfortable five-length win for 5/2 shot Pop On Tia, a 19-month-old bitch from Tina Robinson and Basher Carmichael of Mill Hill, Longtown in the 8 o’clock sprint race.
She finished ahead of It’s A Ticket, a four-year-old owned and trained by Maurice Lawman of Workington.
In the next race main fancy Pop On Scarlet, a litter mate of Tia also from the Robinson / Carmichael partnership, lived up to expectations.
She won as favourite ahead of Macca Tiger, a two-year-old bitch from David Bowes of Cleator Moor.
The third success from the winning litter was Katie’s Lad, which is in the ownership of John Brady of Wishaw, Lanarkshre.
He crossed the line 1.25 lengths in front of Stoop from Willie Hyslop’s Kilmarnock kennels.
There was a convincing victory for Granny, a three-year-old bitch from Davie Dunbar of Auchinleck, in the only middle distance race of the evening.
She took the honours by 4.5 lengths, ahead on ELO from the McKenzie kennels at Workington.
