DUMFRIES Accordion and Fiddle Club met last week in the Crichton Golf Club.
While there weren’t as many local players attending compared to normal, the 12 members that turned up played their hearts out.
On accordions were Bob Watson, Gavin Foster, John Douglas and Barbara Fisher from Dumfries, Ian Woods and Newby Park from Carlisle, and Stuart Faulds from Ayr.
William McRobert from Moffat played the piano, William Little from Dumfries played a tin whistle, and Ian McRobert from Beattock and Rob Dorrance from Kirkpatrick Fleming shared the drum seat.
More than that, however, the club welcomed a set of special guests from across Scotland to play for them during the session.
Edinburgh-based Matthew Maclennan and Julia Dignan on the fiddle wre joined by Liam Stewart from Galston on the piano, and Nicky McMichan from Moffat on drums.
The band gave a polished performance with a varied selection of tunes and tempos which were enjoyed by the lively audience.
John Caskie offered thanks to everyone for attending and to all the local, visiting and supporting players along with the guests who made it another enjoyable evening.
The next club meeting takes place on Tuesday November 1 in The Crichton Golf Club, where Langholm accordionist Ian Anderson will be guest artiste along with drummer Eric Goodfellow.
Admission for the meeting is £5 and free for local supporting players, and the club starts at 7.30 pm.
