Harbour festival called off due to weather

BAD weather has forced a decision to call off the annual Annan Harbour Festival on Saturday and postpone it to later date.

Speaking on Friday, Annan Harbour Action Group secretary Alan Savage said: “It is with regret that we have decided to postpone the harbour festival as of 9 am this morning due to the predicted weather forecast of heavy rain and strong gusting winds tomorrow.
“The festival will be rescheduled, but a date has not yet been agreed.”
The fifth annual Harbour Festival had been due to kick off on Saturday at 11 am, with bouncy castles, a tombola, kids messy play, hand crafted jewellery and local food producer stalls.
The Annan Juvenile Pipes and Drums and the Annan Town Band were to provide musical entertainment along with local singer Michelle Myatt.
And there was to be the usual fast boat rides along the River Annan and out onto the Solway Firth.
