Emergency services were alerted to reports of an elderly woman seen standing at the side of the A710 in her nightgown at about 10.45 pm.
However, the multi-agency search, including the use of a search and rescue helicopter has failed to find any trace of the woman.
UPDATE . . . police say the woman has now come forward and the case has been closed.
