Help shape the Solway’s future

PEOPLE living on and near the Solway Coast are being asked for their views.

A survey has been launched by the Solway Coast and Marine Project (SCAMP) to gather thoughts on the 200 mile stretch from Gretna to Loch Ryan and how it’s used by local people, as well as what they want to see happening around the area.

Their introduction says: “SCAMP is a 15 year project to protect and invest in our coastline. It’s a project that wants to get it right for local communities and local businesses, as well as getting it right for nature. The results of this survey will help make sure that the project is delivering what local people want.

“By taking part in this survey you are helping to inform how nature restoration should happen in our region.”

Questions include: what you value and how to improve the coast and its unique natural habitats of oyster beds, saltmarsh, seagrass and woodlands.

It takes ten minutes to participate and it can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/r/solwaycoast
