Henry’s back on Athletic board
BACK INVOLVED . . . Henry McClelland, pictured right, is back on the board at Annan Athletic

HENRY McClelland has held a near 50 year long association with Annan Athletic.

He first started supporting the club in 1977, and, after watching Annan play Stranraer in the Scottish Cup, he grew aspirations to help take the Black and Golds into the senior leagues.

Henry joined the club’s committee and went on to become chairman. In 2008, alongside the rest of the committee at the time he helped guide Annan into the Scottish Football League.

Recently he helped to re-establish the Supporters’ Club which now regularly runs buses to almost every away match.

Henry is one of three new board members. Joining him are Ian McLatchie and Debbie Young.

Debbie will take on the role of club treasurer, while current board member Susan Bryson has stepped into the role of club secretary where she will support manager Wullie Gibson and deal with SPFL and SFA business.

Susan succeeds former secretary Philip Jones who recently stepped down from the board. Philip served the club for many years as chairman twice and latterly secretary. The club would like to place on record its thanks to Philip for his selfless dedication over a number of years.

Chris Bell and Keith Drysdale have also taken up the positions of safety officer and deputy safety officer.

Volunteers are always being sought at all levels at Galabank — contact [email protected] to find out more.
