Holiday park trout plan

THOUSANDS of rainbow trout are to be introduced to a loch in the latest investment in a Beattock holiday park.

Richmond Wight Estates, the owners and operators of Moffat Manor Holiday Park, are
set to restock the water with 3000 fish to make the most of the feature and continue with the regeneration plans for the park.
National sales director Danny McInnes said: “Our plans at Moffat Manor are well in hand. We want to create a park that the area can be proud of, for use both as a holiday park, bringing money to Beattock, and for those wanting to own a holiday home.”
A total of 15 full time and six seasonal jobs have now been created at the park, which has a new look clubhouse, shop and reception, opened in July, and a new sales office to
handle its lettings business and its sales.
The formerly bankrupt 81 acre park, taken over by Richmond Wight Estates earlier this year, has been subject to thousands of pounds worth of investment.
Extensive landscaping has been carried out and planning approval is currently being
sought from Dumfries and Galloway Council, to build a new leisure centre, including
swimming pool and fitness centre.
Mr McInnes added: “This was also a park acquired in bankruptcy, in which we heavily invested, building a state of the art pool, leisure centre and gym.”
