ANOTHER summer agricultural show has been struck off the calendar for this year.

After a great deal of discussion, the Holm Show Committee has come to the ‘reluctant decision’ not to go ahead with their event again this year.

Chairman David Nixon said: “We are really sorry to disappoint all our loyal showgoers, competitors, trade stand holders, entertainment providers, caterers and everyone else involved with the show in any way.

“It’s true that life seems to be slowly getting back to normal, and we welcome that wholeheartedly, but there are no certainties with Covid 19 and, as such, we felt it’s not yet possible to guarantee putting on the kind of Holm Show which we all know and love.

“We are still hopeful that some events might be held later in the year and are working on ideas, so watch this space.”

And he revealed it’s “all systems go” for August 27 2022 and they look forward to welcoming everyone back to Newcastleton then.
