HOLY Week will be marked in and around Dumfries next week with a variety of services and events.
The town’s Christian Network have shared the details, with an open invitation to everyone to join in.
It kicks off on Monday night at 7 pm in St Andrew’s RC Church; St Michael’s & South Church will host on Tuesday at 7.30 pm; Wednesday will be the turn of the River of Life Church at St Mary’s from 7.30 pm; and it’s Dumfries Baptist Church at 7.30 pm on Thursday.
The Walk of Witness will take place on Good Friday from 10 am between Troqueer and the town centre Fountain; then there will be services at 3 pm at Maxwelltown West Church and 7.30 pm with the Salvation Army at St Mary’s.
A Sunrise Service is also planned for Easter Morning at 8 am on the Mill Green, lasting 30 minutes.
Network convenor Mark Smith said: “All local churches then celebrate Easter Day in their own services around the town and region.
“Everyone’s welcome to come along to any of the services and events, even if just to find out what Christians do, and why Easter means a lot more than chocolate eggs and bunnies.”
