Hospital helps out

ANNAN Hospital is being used to take overflow patients from an under pressure Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.

Health bosses today confirmed that three additional beds have been found at Annan to help ease the situation at a busy DGRI.

However, they declined to confirm if those coming to Annan were covid patients or not.

An NHS spokesman said: “Following an evaluation of current need, and a thorough review by staff including Infection Prevention and Control, a decision has been made to increase capacity at Annan Cottage Hospital by an additional three beds. An update is set to be provided shortly on the current challenges across all of health and social care.”
