Industrial estate fire

SEVEN vehicles were set on fire at a Dumfries industrial estate earlier this morning.

At about 3.55 am, police attended Catherinefield Industrial Estate after being alerted to the blazes.

No-one was injured in the incident but the vans have been completely destroyed.

Officers are treating the fire as wilful and an investigation is under way, with police checking any relevant CCTV footage from in and around the area for any additional information which could assist the investigation.

Detective Sergeant Grant Drennan said: “I would appeal to anyone who has any information regarding this incident to contact us. If you were in the area and have any dash cam then please check your footage as it could provide us with further detail on who is responsible for this wilful fire-raising.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0374 of Monday, 23 June, 2025. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can provide information anonymously.
