Inspection joy for high school

A DUMFRIESSHIRE secondary school has been praised following an inspection.

Wallace Hall Academy has been told by Education Scotland that they are strong in several key areas.

The Thornhill school received very good ratings in four aspects following a visit in January – the second highest mark possible.

The very good ratings were for the school’s ‘Leadership of Change’, ‘Learning, Teaching and Assessment’, ‘Ensuring Wellbeing, Equality and Inclusion’, and ‘Raising Attainment and Achievement’.

Wallace Hall headteacher Barry Graham has expressed his gratitude and pride at the results.

He said: “This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our entire school community.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our pupils, teachers, parents, and the community for their unwavering support and partnership. Together, we have created a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters excellence in education and personal growth. Like our school motto together we grow, learn and achieve.

“This successful inspection report is a reflection of our collaborative efforts and continuous pursuit of excellence.

“We remain dedicated to providing a high-quality educational experience for all our students and look forward to building on this success in the future.

“Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our achievements and helped make Wallace Hall Academy a great place to learn and grow.”
