Now in its second year at new venue, Raehills Meadows, St Ann’s, dozens of organisers and volunteers have been working their magic behind the scenes all week to transform the showfield.
And they expect to welcome hundreds of visitors to their annual event, which features everything from magic shows to livestock competitions. Secretary Hazel Crichton says this year’s show is set to be a big one.
Two new sheep categories have seen sheep entries soar by an extra 100 from 2016 and poultry entries are up too.
Meanwhile trade stands are on the rise and the craft tent is fit to burst.
Looking forward to another great show, Hazel said: “The phrase ‘something for everyone’ has never been truer. We have everything from a chocolate fountain to magic shows.”
She added: “So much hard work has gone into this event. Fingers crossed foranice dry day.”
Free shuttle buses to and from the show will run all day, with picks up at Moffat and Beattock bus stops.
