It’s Lochmaben forever for Darren

A BURGH boy has tattooed the names of his two greatest loves on his chest . . . Lochmaben and Rangers.

Nineteen-year-old Darren Howat shelled out €40 while holidaying with friends this month to get his love of his hometown and football team emblazoned on his chest forever.

While in Ibiza with five of his friends, Darren took the plunge and went under the needle to get ‘Lochmaben And Rangers Are Great’ etched close to his heart.

Speaking about his new ink, he said: “I had always joked about getting the tattoo before I came on holiday, Lochmaben is my hometown and Rangers are my football team.

“I think Lochmaben and Rangers are great because both the place and club have been a part of my life forever and I thought I should dedicate something special to them and make it close to the heart.

“I have supported Rangers my whole life for as long as I can remember, so I have no regrets about getting the tattoo.”

While Darren might have no regrets, he does admit that some people have been shocked by his eternal inking.

He said: “Everyone I’ve spoken to about the tattoo has either laughed or had nothing to say – they’re that shocked and they just think I’m daft!”
