Woodgrove Taxis are a newly established firm who launched only 16 months ago, starting with one car, driver Jake has been there since the very beginning.

The firm’s director, Dougie Thompson said: “Jake is the kind of guy who does not expect to win anything. So for Jake to claim this award, I’m over the moon for him.”

The company are also celebrating a second near win, after they came in third place at the Scottish Car Company of the Year awards, which included 500 different taxi companies.

Currently Woodgrove have eight drivers and six cars and have ambitions to continue their success in the future both regionally and nationally.

Mr Thompson added: “I would love to get a Scottish award or be a finalist again next year.”
