Join in Midsteeple Quarter’s birthday bash

A CELEBRATION will take place this weekend to mark the fifth birthday of the community organisation breathing new life into Dumfries High Street.

Midsteeple Quarter Community Benefit Society is opening the doors of 109 High Street on Saturday to celebrate and showcase the progress made since it officially came into being on April 7, 2018.

People are being invited to call in between 10 am and 3 pm to chat with the project team, find out more about all that’s been achieved and hear how current work – including the transformation of 135-139 High Street into new homes and enterprise spaces – is taking shape. Some may even get the chance to enjoy a piece of birthday cake. There will also be family activities.

Kathryn Hill, Midsteeple Quarter’s community engagement activator, said: “So much has been achieved in the past five years – and there is so much more for us to look forward to. We can’t wait to celebrate and would love to see as many people as possible. Everyone’s welcome.”

As part of the birthday celebrations, Midsteeple Quarter is entering all of its members into a free prize draw, with two gift cards to spend in Flourish – one for £100, the other £50 – up for grabs – pictured.

New members have until April 28th to sign up and become eligible to be entered. Find out more at www.midsteeplequarter.org.
