AN Annandale schoolboy has been named a winner in a design competition.

Daniel Thelkeld from Eaglesfield Primary beat 1600 other entries to win The Royal Highland Education Trust’s Flock to the Show contest.

His design, pictured, will now be painted on to a sheep statue which will then goes on tour around the country with trust chairman Alistair Marshall before arriving at the Royal Highland Show next month.

And Daniel has also won a trip to the show in Edinburgh for his whole class.
