BRIGHTEN up your week at the Kirkcudbright Festival of Light from Thursday.
The florescent festival returns for its fourth year with a great selection of installations, displays, workshops and events to light up the town.
Each night from 7.30pm the Soaperie Gardens in the centre of the town will be lit for visitors to come and enjoy and see the fantastic lights displays, then take a wander round the town centre and see the great installations and displays, as well as the houses that have joined in and added lights and decorations to their windows.
During the week there are free lantern making workshops on Monday October 3 and Tuesday October 4 from 12 noon – 6pm.
The festival culminates on Saturday evening a with a lantern parade from the Soaperie Gardens, through the streets of Kirkcudbright. The parade this year will be led by well known local musician, poet, children’s entertainer Tony Bonning.
Also joining the parade will be Verity Power. Verity is an entertainer who will treat the crowds to her amazing LED poi during the parade and will put on a fire show as a finale to the festival.
The Kirkcudbright Festival of Light begins on Thursday October 6. More information and the full programme of events are available on the festival’s facebook page or at: www.ksf.scot/festival-of-light.
