LIGHTS COUNTDOWN . . . Kirkpatrick Fleming big lights switch on was performed by Kirkpatrick Fleming primary pupil Clara Little and resident Andrew Ritchie. Looking on at the ceremony on Friday evening was piper Craig Irving

More than 250 people came out to support the event and those present enjoyed a fun filled evening.

There was carol singing from Kirkpatrick Fleming Primary pupils and lovely food by Claire Johnstons mobile catering.

The most senior member of the village, Andrew Ritchie, drew the name from the hat to decide who would have the honour of switching the lights on.

And it was P6 pupil Clara Little who was selected to switch on the lights alongside Andrew.

Craig Irving piped everyone out in front of the hall just before the lights were switched on.

Thanks are expressed to Kirkpatrick Fleming Primary School staff, community council members, John and Liam from John Smith Electrical, Craig Irving, the volunteers in the kitchen, marshals outside the hall, and all other helpers on the night.
