Late heartbreak for ladies

A LAST minute sucker-punch all- but ended Queen of the South Ladies League One title hopes. The team gave it their all in a competitive tussle but fell to a 3-2 defeat to St Mirren at Palmerston on Sunday. The Buddies scored in the infancy of the contest before goal machine Holly Ovens levelled on four minutes. The visitors regained the lead before Alexandra Connon equalised on the hour mark. But it was heartbreak for the Doonhamers as St Mirren netted late on. Queens travel to Westdyke Ladies this Sunday with a 3 pm kick off.
