Lisa reaches out to families

A NEW group is starting in Lockerbie to help support family members of care home residents.

It is being set up by Lisa Hall from Beattock, an activity co-ordinator in a local home who noticed the impact on families of moving a loved one into care.

She said: “After spending lots of time seeing the effects on the family members and loved ones of my residents, I have decided to start a group in Lockerbie to allow like-minded people to come together for a cuppa and a chat, engage in creative activities and make new friends.

“The general feelings family members have are guilt, loneliness and isolation. We would like to combat this and let people know they are not alone.”

She is aiming to run it on Sunday mornings at Lockerbie Town Hall, starting soon, and is appealing to anyone interested to get in touch.
