The Castle Loch Lochmaben Community Trust and Lochmaben and District Community Initiative are hosting ‘Walk the Loch’ to help raise funds for the project.
Between 10 am and 12.30 pm today, the Trust and Initiative are holding a sponsored walking event for people to come and experience the loch and woodland paths.
Darren Flint, the Castle Loch Project Officer, said: “The aim of the day is to spread the word of this lovely outdoor spot, get a breath of fresh air and help raise funds for its future upkeep and protection.
“I’m looking forward to seeing lots of familiar and new faces at this joint event.”
David Mair, of Lochmaben and District Community Initiative, added: “We are very pleased to be supporting this community owned outdoor facility, which is proving such a local asset and very popular with both residents and visitors to the area.”
The sponsored walk will start from Lochfield Cottage and participants have the option of walking one circuit of 3 miles, two circuits, or a short woodland trail for families.
