Lockerbie Ladies welcome Canadian curlers

A TOURING curling team from Canada visited Lockerbie Ice Rink on Friday as part of a three week trip around Scotland.

The Canadian Women’s Tour of Scotland had been delayed for nearly four years as a result of covid. On Friday morning the 22 travelling curlers visited the Devil’s Porridge Museum and the Lockerbie Memorial Garden at Dryfesdale Cemetery.

In the afternoon they headed to the ice rink to face a Lockerbie Ladies side, the Lockerbie team triumphed 54-33

Lone piper Ted Hill walked the players out onto the rink and Helen Bell rolled the first stone for Lockerbie.
