Lowlands produce to be championed

MORE than 50 of the Lowland’s food and drink producers will be showcasing their products at an innovative regional industry event in Dumfries next month.

The Larder of the Lowlands event takes place at the Easterbrook Hall on April 17 and aims to create a bustling and supportive environment for local producers to meet a wide range of buyers, from local to major names.

The ethos is all about supporting local, keeping sustainability at the forefront of regional food development.

There will also be cookery demonstrations from chefs across the area, with a ‘Ready Steady Cook’ theme using the incredible ingredients in the room.

Fiona Richmond, head of regional food at Scotland Food & Drink, said: “Events such as the one in Dumfries play an important role in bringing producers and buyers together to build relationships and create sales, and we are delighted to be able to facilitate those conversations.”
