Man, 49, dies in A75 smash

A MAN who died after a collision on the A75 near Glenluce on Tuesday morning has been named.

He was Kevin Bodle, aged 49. It’s believed he was from the region.

His white Peugeot Partner van and a stationary Volvo paver machine were in collision at about 6.45 am that morning.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and Kevin was taken to Galloway Community Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Enquiries into the full circumstances of the accident remain ongoing and police are appealing for information and witnesses.

Sergeant Lloyd Caven said: “Our thoughts remain with Kevin’s family and friends at this terrible time, as they try to come to terms with their loss.

“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing and we’d like to thank the public for their understanding, as officers carry out their work in the area.

“We would appeal to anyone with information on the crash, any witnesses, or motorists who may have been in the area and have dashcam footage, to please come forward. You can call police on 101, quoting incident 0538 of 21 May, 2024.”
