A 93-year-old man has died after a road crash at Islesteps yesterday morning.
Emergency services were called at about 11.55 am to the accident on the A710 involving a black Land Rover Discovery Sport which had left the road.
They found the elderly man unresponsive within the vehicle and he was taken by ambulance to Dumfries and Galloway Royal infirmary, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Officers are now appealing for information about the incident and Sergeant Neil Moffat said: “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family of the man who died and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
“We believe the black Land Rover Discover Sport was travelling northbound on the A710 at the time and are appealing for any motorists, particularly with dash-cams, who were on the road and may have seen the vehicle involved.
