Police Scotland confirmed that they were called to Poplar Road, Dumfries, at around 4.50 pm on Tuesday, June 1, after a car was reported to have hit four people and then drove off.
Three of the victims have been taken to hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed today that a man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
Officers have appealed to the public for any information.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Poplar Road, Dumfries, at around 4.50pm on Tuesday, June 1, following a road traffic crash.
“A car is reported to have collided with four people, three of whom were taken to hospital for treatment.
“One man, 25, has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
