Man in court for pool sex assaults

A MAN has been accused in court at Dumfries of charges of sexual assault and breach of the peace involving youngsters at the town’s one-time showpiece DG1 swimming pool.

Kenneth Starks, 63, of Manse Gardens, Strachur, Argyll and Bute, yesterday pleaded not guilty to a total of 15 charges alleged to have taken place between March and September last year.
He denied four charges of sexually assaulting four youngsters by swimming close to groups and touching them on the buttocks or stomach.
Other charges of breach of the peace include conducting himself in a disorderly manner by changing direction and swimming towards children, following some into the toilets and standing beside a group at urinals, and in one case avoiding and hiding from staff members.
Trial has been set for March.
