Man killed in A75 crash
A 66-year-old man died in a car crash on the A75 at Annan yesterday afternoon.
He was the driver of a red Suzuki Ignis, which was in collision with a black Nissan Pulsar west of the Annan east junction at about 1.50 pm.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, pictured, but the man was pronounced dead. He has not yet been named.
Meanwhile, the Nissan driver, a 56-year-old man, was taken to hospital and his condition was today described as ‘critical but stable’.
Sergeant Neil Moffat said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and they have asked for privacy at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch. In addition, if you have dash-cam please check it to see if there is anything that could assist our investigation.”
The road was closed for crash investigation work and re-opened last night at 10.20pm.
