Stab claim man arrested for wasting police time

A MAN in Stranraer has been charged with wasting police time — following police enquiries into an alleged assault.

It had been reported that a 23-year-old male had been stabbed after being confronted by another man who attempted to steal his property while in Agnew Crescent between between 8.30 pm and 9 pm on Saturday March 4.
A statement today said: “Police in Stranraer have arrested and charged a 23-year-old man with wasting police time following police enquiries into an alleged assault with intent to rob.”
