Midpark outbreak

VISITING was suspended at a hospital in Dumfries following an outbreak of covid.

Eight positive cases were detected in patients at Midpark last week and led to a deep clean taking place at the mental health facility for in-patient care.

Meanwhile, staffing continues to be impacted amid high levels of the coronavirus within the community.

As of last Friday, Cree Ward was closed to new admissions, patient transfers, and routine inpatient visiting.

But health bosses said the situation will be reviewed regularly with an aim to open up admissions and visiting as early as possible.

Meanwhile, new figures out today (Mon) show there were 408 new Covid cases locally recorded in the last 24 hours.
