Police had launched a search for the 53-year-old after he left home in Kirkland Place on Monday morning and failed to return.
Moffat Mountain Rescue Team – pictured- were among those drafted in to look for him.
However, Police Scotland revealed earlier this afternoon that Mr McKie had been located in Maidenbower.
