MMRT in rescue call out

TWO disorientated walkers were rescued above Durisdeer by MMRT volunteers.

On Saturday afternoon, shortly after 1 pm, the Moffat Mountain Rescue Team was called out to assist after the duo became hopelessly lost in clouds high in the hills.

An MMRT spokesman said: “Thanks to the intimate knowledge of the area that some of our team members have, we were able to get a vehicle within 20 minutes walk of the walkers and assist them off the hill.”
