FIREFIGHTERS in Moffat are celebrating after their station was crowned the best in Dumfries and Galloway.
It followed a year of fire station audits carried out by the area management team, with Moffat ultimately taking the 2022-23 title.
Their name will now be inscribed on the much coveted shield.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesperson said: “This was the return of the shield following the restrictions over the last couple of years.
“A full audit is carried out to gauge the station’s performance against administrative targets aligned to the Station Action Plan and SFRS core values, as well as a practical drill carried out on the night.
“There was stiff competition this year and other factors were taken into account such as availability.”
Area Commander Andy Kenna presented the prize and commended the station for their excellent teamwork and respect shown to each other and visitors.
