Boreland crash biker named
THE MAN who died following a motorbike crash in Boreland has been named by police.
He was Paul Armstrong, 41, from Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Mr Armstrong was travelling with a group of other bikers on the B723 when he was involved in a collision at about 2.30 pm.
No other vehicles were involved.
Emergency services raced to the scene, however the man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead there.
The road was closed for several hours to allow for collision investigators to carry out their enquiries.
Sergeant David Kerr said: “An investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the crash. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident who may have any information to contact us. Any small piece of information could assist our enquiries as we piece together what has happened.”
