Motorbiker hurt in A713 crash

A MOTORCYCLIST is in a serious condition in hospital following a crash near Dundeugh yesterday morning.

Emergency servies rushed to the accident scene on the A713, Ayr to Castle Douglas Road, at about 11.05 am on Sunday.

It involved a Mercedes Sprinter delivery van and a black BMW motorbike.

The motorcyclist, a 57-year-old man, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow via air ambulance where he remains in a serious condition.

The road was closed for around nine hours.

Police are appealing for information and Constable Chris Kirkpatrick said: “Our enquiries into this collision remain ongoing and we are appealing to anyone that witnessed the incident to come forward.

“We would also like to speak to anyone who saw the vehicles, or has dashcam footage of them, prior to the crash.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident 1395 of 18 August.
