Mountain rescue team's funding boost

ICE cream and mountain rescues came together in Galloway.

To celebrate their 20th year in business, the staff at Finlay’s Farm, Cream o’Galloway decided to do a spot of fundraising for Galloway Mountain Rescue Team and collected over £300.
The money was raised during a number of small events at their visitor centre at Rainton, near Gatehouse of Fleet.
Wilma Findlay and the staff of Cream o’Galloway recently presented a cheque for £302 to team member Mike Kneeshaw.
Wilma said: “We’re delighted to be able to help support such a vital service in the rural life in Dumfries and Galloway.”
And Mike said: “We’re extremely grateful for this donation.
“Monies raised by businesses like Cream o’Galloway help to keep the team operational.
“For example, we are constantly purchasing fuel for our vehicles and running costs are considerable.”
