MP picks Avah’s robin for Christmas card

WELL done to Avah Houston for winning a Christmas card design competition.

Her entry, which featured a jolly robin, was picked by Dumfries and Galloway MP Alister Jack to be his card for 2023 and she has won a £100 voucher.

And the card has now been printed up and sent out, with one copy being personally delivered to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at 10 Downing Street.

Mr Jack praised all the hundreds of creative pupils who took part in the competition.

The runners-up, who each receive £25 vouchers, were: Carlin Ramsay, Drummore Primary; James Anderson, Sheuchan Primary; Abigail Ross, Heathhall Primary; Mamie McMillan, Colvend Primary; Zara Hamilton, Drummore Primary; Estere Deksne, Penninghame Primary; Katie Walls, Troqueer Primary; Iris Crosbie, Troqueer Primary; and Ruby Leigh McCubbin, Heathhall Primary.
