Muir brace could be vital
ON THE ATTACK . . . Josh Todd looks to get forward against Montrose

ANNAN came from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Montrose and secure a vital League One point last Saturday at Galabank.

The visitors took the lead on nine minutes after Owen Stirton showed good skill on the left before firing hard and low into the far right corner.

Ten minutes later it was 2-0. Following a scramble in the Annan penalty box, Blair Lyons, with his back to goal, turned and found the net with a well struck effort.

The away side took control after this. And they were unlucky not to add a third when Callum Sandilands controlled the ball well before trying to find the left corner. It dropped just wide of the target.

Bolstered by the introduction of Scott Hooper at halftime, the Black and Golds looked a team re-energised in the second period.

They threatened straight from the restart, Dixon’s low ball in from the left found Luca Ross, but the youngster was unfortunate to see his effort bounce off the post.

With 20 minutes remaining Annan pulled one back from a corner. Tommy Muir made no mistake with a bullet header at the back post which flew high into the net.

The home side then looked like they would score again, they pushed on and got the deserved equaliser goal two minutes from time.

Ross made an incredible run down the right before a good cross met the head of Muir who near-enough replicated his earlier goal to seal a draw.
