QUEEN of the South boss Peter Murphy has told his players to smarten up after last week’s loss and ahead of the league leaders coming to Palmerston.
The Doonhamers conceded at the death against Arbroath to condemn them to another loss on the road.
Now there’s a gap to the pack at the top of League One and Murphy knows a victory against Gary Naysmith’s Warriors is what’s needed.
He said: “We need to be cleverer as a group and not to just expect to be up the top of the league.
“We need to prove ourselves to be up there, the players will do that. It’s tough to take and now there’s a little gap up the top so we need to improve that form very quickly.
“Stenhousemuir have a little bit of confidence and momentum. They’ve scored 12 goals in the last three games.
“At the point we’re at the moment we need the win. Hopefully we’ll have another player back next week.
“It was a tough one to take against Arbroath after taking the lead and the manner in how we lost it.”
