The Black and Golds left Borough Briggs with a point to show for their efforts. The home side took the lead through the prolific Kane Hester early on but Tommy Goss managed to produce the goods for the visitors with a header to equalise in the second half.
Murphy’s side created enough chances to be in with a shout of snatching all three points on the road.
It still a much better result for the Galabankies as opposed to the 5-1 trouncing suffered back in October, but the gaffer was still not pleased with the outcome.
However, he admitted that a point on the road will always be welcome.
Murphy said: “I wasn’t pleased with the result because I think we deserved three points.
“When you go away from home and pick up a draw it’s good. But I think we deserved the win with the way we played in the game.
“Over the last couple of weeks we have created a lot of chances which is excellent. If we just had that clinical touch we would have gained more points.
“We have just got to be a bit more ruthless.”
This Saturday Athletic are due to entertain Bonnyrigg Rose at Galabank. It will be the first time that the Rose have played on the Galabank turf, but the second time they have visited the stadium after the original fixture last month was called off at the final hour due to ice on the pitch, leaving the referee with no choice but to cancel the game.
Coincidentally, the forecast for tomorrow is also meant to be freezing. But, hopefully the pitch will have enough time to thaw out for the 3 pm kick off.
Murphy added: “On Tuesday we couldn’t train because it was slippy on the pitch. Everyone went and did their own work in the gym.
“The temperature is supposed to rise so we think that the pitch should be fine.
“It will be a good game. We lost against them earlier on in the season and didn’t give a good account of ourselves. I am looking forward to getting the game on and playing on Saturday.”
Athletic have still not made any more movement on the transfer front in the past week. Murphy said: “There is a couple of players that we are looking at but there is no immediate rush.
“There is also the potential for players to come in on loan.”
