Music conference ready to hit play

DUMFRIES Music Conference is set to make a return this month for its eighth annual gala of live music, film, exhibitions and workshops.

Taking place online from October 15-17, it is the first time the conference (DMC) will be held digitally, but the organisers promise it will be as artistically plentiful as ever before.

Focusing on the theme of ‘DIY’, the programme will explore how the music industry has been impacted by Covid-19 – and how it can recover.

Dave Miller, DMC general manager, said: “Our aim this year with our digital conference is, as always, to inspire, educate and empower those within the vibrant music scene of Dumfries and Galloway, whether you are a musician, industry figure or music fan.

“We’ve ensured that our new online platform holds these values high.”

All events will be free to attend and participate, with more details and tickets available at www.dumfriesmusicconference.com.
