RACING driver Gordie Mutch and his teammate, Jimmy Broadbent, have extended their championship lead in the Praga Cup after a successful weekend at Donington.

Gordie, from Lockerbie, and teammate, Jimmy, won the opening race on Saturday and then finished fourth on Sunday – even after receiving a penalty.

The duo now find themselves in a great position ahead of the final race of this year’s calendar on October 22 and 23 at the Donington Grand Prix.

Gordie said: “I am very happy to add another win to this year’s success, Saturday was an eventful race but we took everything there was to offer with fastest in qualifying, fastest lap in race and the race win.

“Sunday was a tougher day, we received a penalty which turned out to be wrong but we had already served it meaning it couldn’t be undone.

“Despite that, we made our way through to P4. “We leave the weekend with an extended championship lead which was our goal, it puts us in prime position to take the title in October on the Donington Grand Prix circuit.”
