A DYNAMIC new home care provider has arrived in Dumfries and Galloway, introducing a fresh approach to person-centred care for older adults.
Entrepreneur Peter Bomer has launched the latest SureCare franchise, dedicated to helping people maintain their independence and thrive in their own homes. The business aims to recruit 50 staff members over the next 12 months and is actively looking for the local talent.
With a background in international business and marketing, Peter’s passion for care was shaped by personal experience.
He said: “Ten years ago, I began splitting my time between China and the UK to support my parents. My mum was living with Alzheimer’s, and my dad struggled to cope. Later, he too was diagnosed with dementia. I saw first-hand the challenges of both giving and receiving care.”
Recognising a gap in the market for a service that enables older people to lead active, fulfilling lives at home, Peter set out to create a solution.
He explained: “As you get older, life should be about more than just getting by – it should be about thriving. Dumfries and Galloway has a vibrant community of over-seventies – volunteers, hobbyists, and active participants who value their independence.
“The last thing they want is to be placed in a care home. They deserve care that respects their dignity, values their life experience and enhances their chosen way of life.
“I’m honoured that SureCare has entrusted me with its brand and reputation.”
SureCare Dumfries and Galloway has already secured an experienced leadership team, including Sharon Morrow, a highly regarded registered care manager formerly of Annan Court Care Home.
The business also boasts a multi-skilled care team leader with expertise in social media and events. Based at Grierson House on Bankend Road, Dumfries, the company is set to make a significant impact.
A passionate advocate for community inclusion, Peter is also a trustee of Better Lives Partnership, a Dumfries and Galloway charity supporting autistic young adults and individuals with additional support needs.
SureCare Dumfries and Galloway is in the final stages of securing Care Inspectorate registration, after which it will provide a full suite of regulated care services.
In the meantime, the company is already placing qualified, fully vetted temporary care staff and delivering a range of non-regulated services, such as domestic assistance, home organisation, and management support.
