A NEW specialist residential service in Lockerbie supporting six adults with learning disabilities and complex needs is now open.
The former Townhead Hotel has been converted into two flats and four ensuite bedrooms with communal living space and renamed Trinity Lodge.
And from the new year they will also be opening and running a new social enterprise cafe.
Explaining more, service manager Lorraine Platt said: “We are really excited about the community social enterprise café which will be opening in the New Year.
“The people who live at Trinity House and Trinity Lodge will offer a small menu and plenty of tea and coffee to our local community. There will be training opportunities and enhanced skills training undertaken with our long term plan being partnership working with our local college and volunteers from our local community.”
The new facility is part of the Cygnet Social Care division and the firm’s deputy operations director Heather Smith explained who will be living there, saying: “We are really pleased to offer a bespoke specialist service for four gentlemen who are already part of the Lockerbie community and who have been living at Trinity House for a number of years.
“In addition, Trinity Lodge will also provide two new apartments for people who are ready to develop and enhance their independent living skills within a supported environment.”
