New owners for windfarm

A WINDFARM scheme near Carsphairn has been taken over.

Red Rock Power Ltd has acquired the Benbrack development from RWE.

The project is in late-stage development with a potential capacity of around 72 MW and consent for up to 18 turbines.

The detailed design of the windfarm, including height, number and location of wind turbines, as well as a construction timeline is yet to be finalised but community engagement is planned in the coming weeks and months.

Red Rock Power CEO Guy Madgwick said: “Our focus over the coming months is to finalise the development’s design and strategy as we prepare to move into the construction phase. We look forward to meeting local stakeholders and keeping them up to date on our plans as we progress.”
